Hongkong International Terminals (HIT), located on one of the most vibrant trade lanes in the industry, is entering its fifth decade with vigour. HIT has striven, through the good times and the bad, to improve efficiency and keep abreast of the latest technological advancements and operational practices, earning it a place as an industry leader.
The latest milestone for HIT came earlier this year with the listing of HPH Trust in Singapore, the world's first container port business trust. As a member of the Trust - together with other member terminals - HIT has gained increased exposure in the international financial community, especially with investors who are excited by the excellent prospects of the Pearl River Delta region and impressed with our high levels of operational efficiency.
Despite our achievements, we are never complacent. The next decade will bring with it many challenges, including increased vessel size, new technologies and regulations, and changing customer dynamics. With our excellent management, strong team culture and the support of the Hutchison Port Holdings' (HPH) global port network, HIT is uniquely equipped to navigate this new landscape. We will drive forward with both innovation and strong leadership and continue to be a key player in the development of Hong Kong's container port.
I look forward to working together with the HIT team to embrace the challenges that lie ahead as we move from strength to strength.
