Kwai Tsing Road Safety Campaign - Carnival
Each year HIT not only helps to sponsor,
but also manages an exhibit in the Kwai Tsing District
Road Safety Campaign, organised by the Kwai Tsing
District Council.
Since 1990, HIT has been a co-organiser
of the Articulated Vehicle Safety Campaign Carnival
and the Commissioner for Transport Trophy. This event
is supported by the Hong Kong Container Tractor Owner
Association and the Hong Kong Institute of Advanced
Motorists, where it aims to raise the skill level
of tractor drivers and to increase safety awareness
of all those on the road. The Kwai Tsing District
Office and Kwai Tsing Police District are also actively
involved in this event.
All of these events remind the many
different companies that need to commute in and out
of Kwai Chung on the importance of careful driving.
Everyone benefits - the drivers, local residents and
the authorities. Initiatives like these help to keep
the importance of road safety in the forefront of
peoples' mind.
Adopting a safe and sound driving environment
within the container terminal compound is also one
of the measures that have been implemented by HIT.
Kwai Tsing Road Safety Campaign - Internal
Drivers Talk
As part of the Kwai Tsing Road Safety
Campaign, an Internal Drivers Talk was held at HIT
on 8 October 2004, where over 200 internal tractor
drivers attended the talk. Speakers were from the
Institute of Advanced Motorists Hong Kong and the
Hong Kong Police, where the topics included safe driving
attitude and the importance of road safety. All participants
paid keen attention as the topics were directly related
to their job. The organizer, Kwai Tsing District Board,
expressed appreciation to HIT on the opportunity to
meet so many professional drivers and pass on road
safety news to the audience.
Road Safety Carnival organized by Hong
