Air Pollution Control Measures
Emissions from diesel-driven cranes.
Preventative maintenance program are undertaken to reduce the dark smoke and improve the efficiency of all the diesel-driven cranes. Air emissions are checked in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule against requirements and rectified if found to be below the standard.
Vehicle emission
EURO III engine equipped vehicle is the standard for all new company diesel vehicles.
more fuel efficient (25% Dark smoke reduction & 5% fuel reduction).
Research for hybrid vehicle system.
Indoor Air Quality
IAQ monitoring audits have been carried out quarterly to monitor the indoor air quality.
Installation of Primary Air Handling Unit (PAU) which increase the fresh air supply to the building by 40%.

Waste water and Water Conservation
Waste water generated from Container Stacking Yard
Washing bays to collect emulsified grease water generated from crane and vehicle washing for off-site disposal.
Petrol filling stations surrounded with independent drainage system to underground oil interceptor.
Waste water generated from Canteen
Under-sink grease traps remove large chunks of grease.
Application of Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system to separate/retrieve the oil from the emulsified grease before going to the sewage treatment plant for off-site disposal.
O & G and COD level could be reduced significantly (Removal rate is 94% and 45% respectively.

Noise Pollution Control Measures
Control massagers
Routine noise monitoring at nearby noise sensitive receivers.
Installation of automatic timer control for the RTGC’s siren to reduce the noise level during night time.

Energy consumption
Energy/Fuel-intensive areas
Electric-powered and diesel driven cranes.
Vehicles.
LPG used for canteen and boilers.
Energy consumption
Installation of timer switches and variable speed drives for air conditioning units in office areas (10% reduction).
Installation of electronic ballasts in fluorescent light fittings and sodium flood light fittings are on going. (max. 15% reduction).

Waste Management and Resource Efficiency
General solid wastes and recyclables
Household waste - Different color coded recycling bins.
Collection traps in our office for used envelopes (for internal mail) and scrap papers (for rough works printing).
Chemical waste
Chemical Waste Collection Points.
Centralized Chemical Waste Storage Compound.
Recycling of lubricant and hydraulic waste oil by dynamic oil purifiers.
Waste Minimization & Cost Saving in treatment and lube oil usage.
Industrial waste
Waste Segregation for recyclable materials such as batteries, scrap metal, printer toners and tyres.
Management procedures to reduce waste generation, such as:
  - A write off procedure to control the disposal of materials.
- Use rechargeable batteries instead of non-rechargeable ones to minimize the disposal of batteries.
- Use solar powered appliances such as calculators to avoid battery disposal.
- Sell out/donate the old furniture, used appliances and old computers to charitable bodies.

Green Innovation
Re-use of paper and envelopes.
Paper recycling program,
Computerized inventory control system,
Waste separation for recycling program with colour-coded recycling-bins used for paper, aluminum cans & plastic wastage,
Separated collection & recycling (or re-use) programs for scrap metal, rubber tyres, toner & batteries,
Use of environmentally friendly materials, such as biodegradable chemicals for cleaning, simulated wood texture, sand stone finish and metallic finish products for construction / renovation works,
Improvement program for energy conservation in buildings.
