[Hong Kong - 19 May 2003] - Hongkong International Terminals Limited (HIT) and its employees have recently donated 1025 face shields with filters to the medical staff of Princess Margaret Hospital.

As Princess Margaret Hospital is located in the Kwai Tsing district along with Hong Kong's main container terminals, HIT has developed a long-standing relationship with the hospital.

An internal fund raising campaign among HIT employees managed to collect nearly half of the more than HK$200,000 needed to purchase the high-grade medical supplies. The balance of the purchase was financed by HIT.

Accompanying the donation to Princess Margaret Hospital were over forty posters of goodwill created by the employees of HIT. Words of support were collected on the posters to encourage the frontline medical workers who are fighting the outbreak of atypical pneumonia.

Eric Ip, HIT Managing Director, commented, "HIT has a strong stake in Hong Kong and our local community of Kwai Tsing. We are very pleased to give our support to the courageous medical staff of Princess Margaret Hospital."
