WE INVEST IN OUR FUTURE

We firmly believes that the youth of
Hong Kong are its future.

We have been assisting Hong Kong’s youth for
several decades, creating numerous opportunities
for them to achieve their dreams and goals.
Start Your Journey @ Port Programme
As a market leader in Hong Kong, HIT is keen on nurturing future talents for the industry. One of the initiatives is the establishment of Start Your Journey @ Port Programme.

This programme provides a series of learning opportunities for students who are pursuing tertiary education. It aims at increasing students’ industrial knowledge and nurturing their passion toward developing their career in the logistics industry via seminars, placements, scholarship and terminal visits. We also offer structured development programmes to groom the young graduates to embark their career journey in HIT.

“Hongkong International Terminals Scholarship (Engineering Studies)” was established for students who are pursuing the designated 4 Higher Diploma (HD) programmes in IVE Engineering Department, i.e. Automotive Engineering, Computer and Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. We aim at engaging the HD students to join HIT in 2 stages:

Stage 13-month industrial placementScholarship HK$10,000
Stage 212-month Engineering development program under full-time employment upon graduationScholarship HK$10,000

We target to offer 4 scholarships in 2023/2024 academic year.

Dock School Programme
The Hutchison Ports Dock School Programme aims to match a school to each port in the Group's global network, and provides assistance by sponsoring scholarships and other educational initiatives.

Hongkong International Terminals Limited (HIT) plays an active role in the Programme. In the 1990s, HIT adopted the Tsuen Wan Trade Association School as the first of its two Dock Schools, presenting scholarships to students with outstanding academic achievements and sponsoring a special language programme to help local and South Asian students raise their language abilities. HIT also sponsors students with economic constraints to join school activities.

HIT adopted its second Dock School, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) Tsing Yi, in 2009.

HIT and IVE Tsing Yi host an annual contest for secondary school students to help them learn about Hong Kong’s supply chains and the logistics industry. We also sponsor the final year project competition at IVE Tsing Yi, which mainly focuses on the logistics industry.

Kwai Tsing District Youth Community Service Competition
HIT has been sponsoring this competition since 1998. Secondary school students in the Kwai Tsing district form teams to plan community service activities. They present their proposal to a panel of judges and receive a limited budget to carry out their idea. The teams are judged based on their ideas, presentation methods and result of their project.
